Indie-pop artist Cade Hoppe creates music that captures the uncertainty, emotion, and unexpected moments that shape our lives. With cinematic production, thoughtful lyrics, and a distinctive storytelling style, he transforms personal experiences into songs that feel both intimate and relatable.

His latest single “Lake Michigan” explores the journey of chasing dreams while learning to embrace the unexpected paths life can take. Inspired by a cross-country journey that didn’t quite reach its intended destination, the track reflects on ambition, acceptance, and finding meaning along the way.

The single offers a glimpse into his forthcoming album Safer at a Distance, a deeply personal project exploring creativity, change, and the challenges of pursuing a life in music.

Originally from the East Coast, Cade’s journey has taken him from studying finance and playing college basketball at New York University to becoming a full-time artist and producer. Since launching his music career, he has built a growing reputation for emotionally honest songwriting and atmospheric indie-pop.

With previous projects including Tell Me How It’s Worth It, Everything That’s Wrong with You, and Just Look At The Moon, Cade Hoppe continues to evolve as an artist with a sound rooted in honesty, reflection, and connection.

PLAIN MISTER SMITH

Bric-a-Brac Attack -via Amelia Records

Vancouver–London-based multi-instrumentalist Plain Mister Smith returns with his highly anticipated sophomore album, Bric-a-Brac Attack, released on 7 August 2026 via Amelia Records.

A musician who refuses to be confined to one sound or one role, Plain Mister Smith brings together a remarkably diverse musical background. Former guitarist of Canadian darkwave pioneers Moev and a cellist with the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra, he has carved out a distinctive identity under his own moniker, blending eclectic indie-folk soundscapes with sharp, quick-witted lyricism and a deeply introspective edge.

His work has already earned recognition from an impressive range of tastemaker publications and radio stations, including NPR Music, 1883 Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, CLASH Magazine, NOTION, Under The Radar, Earmilk, METAL, Noctis Mag and Atwood Magazine, among others.

Now, with Bric-a-Brac Attack, Plain Mister Smith opens another chapter in his evolving musical story.

THE SOUND OF BRIC-A-BRAC ATTACK

The album's focus track, ‘Grindavik’, offers an immediate introduction to the warm, reflective world of Bric-a-Brac Attack. Opening with bright, shimmering acoustic guitars, the track finds Plain Mister Smith looking back towards the Icelandic town of Grindavík, an area shaped by recent volcanic activity.

But beneath the vivid imagery lies something more personal.

‘Grindavik’ uses the landscape as a powerful metaphor for a relationship in turmoil, weaving storytelling, nostalgia and longing into a beautifully layered composition. Effortlessly grooving, unsyncopated drums provide a steady pulse beneath an ever-evolving chord progression, while the track moves between intimacy and expansiveness with remarkable ease.

Adding even greater emotional depth are guest performances from Jordan Klassen and Kitt, whose contributions complement the track's atmospheric quality and strengthen its emotional impact.
