Y2K Nostalgia Meets Alt-Pop Attitude

Liverpool-based Japanese-British artist MARiMARi is carving out her own space in the alternative pop scene with her debut mini-album MARi GO ROUND, released via Los Angeles-based label Hallwood Media.
Blending hyperpop energy, Y2K nostalgia and alternative attitude, the seven-track project is a colourful introduction to an artist who isn't afraid to embrace individuality and push beyond genre boundaries.
At its centre is focus track “POP SHUVIT!”, an explosive take on teenage love and the chaos that comes with it. Packed with glitchy synths, huge hooks and infectious melodies, the track captures MARiMARi's ability to turn personal experiences into bold, playful anthems.
Inspired by artists including Kesha, Paramore and Charli XCX, MARiMARi creates music or the eyeliner-wearing emo kids with a sugary pop addiction — combining the nostalgia of Y2K pop with the rebellious spirit of alternative culture.
Written in East London with producer Harry Paynter, MARi GO ROUND offers a personal glimpse into MARiMARi's world as a young Japanese-British artist navigating identity, creativity and modern music.
Her growing momentum has already earned support from BBC Radio 1's Future Alternative, Spotify's GLOW Songwriters, and playlists including Hyperpop, New Pop UK and Evolver. Her MARi GO ROUND tour has also included sold-out shows in London and Liverpool.
With striking visuals, fearless creativity and a sound that refuses to sit neatly inside one genre, MARiMARi is an artist firmly on the rise — and one to watch.

TWAT UNION
Feminist Feral Theatre-Punks Return With New Summer Banger ‘TV BIKINY’
Fresh from appearances at 2000trees and Doune The Rabbit Hole, feminist feral theatre-punks TWAT UNION return with their new summer banger ‘TV BIKINY’, released 23rd July 2026 via Alcopop! Records.
A playful take on body standards, sofa days and the freedom of doing absolutely nothing, the track celebrates feeling comfortable in your own skin — and taking that confidence out into the world.
Vocalist Kate Mac describes it as “our version of a summer banger” and a reminder to “smuggle a bit of that sofa confidence into real life.”
Following May’s ‘Period Sex’, the new single continues the sextet’s gloriously chaotic brand of anti-patriarchal protest punk.
Known for their outrageous theatrical live shows, Twat Union will also team up with Northern Irish labelmates Problem Patterns for a special co-headline at The Lexington, London, on 10 October 2026.

FOREVER FOREVER
London Indie-Pop Quartet Announce New EP Life Is Easy
London indie-pop/alt-folk quartet FOREVER FOREVER are set to release their new EP Life Is Easy on 13th November 2026 via Kartel Music Group, unveiling lead single ‘Bouldering’ on 31st July.
Blending 00s indie with modern pop, folk and touches of grunge, Forever Forever are known for their lush four-part harmonies and genre-bending sound. Their music captures the messy, joyful contradictions of navigating your 20s, shifting effortlessly between introspection and euphoria.
‘Bouldering’ showcases the more upbeat side of the forthcoming EP, offering a self-deprecating take on self-improvement, personal growth and the temptation to want the results without putting in the work.
The track follows the band’s acclaimed early releases, which earned support from Apple Music, BBC Introducing, Atwood Magazine, EARMILK, Louder Than War and NOTION, as well as a sold-out debut headline show at The Troubadour.
With comparisons to The National, Glass Animals, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Lucy Rose and Orla Gartland, Forever Forever are quickly establishing themselves as an exciting new voice in London’s indie scene.

BUGЕYE
Croydon Queer Electro-Pop Outfit Return With
‘This Is What I Want’
Croydon queer electro-pop outfit BUGEYE return with their new single ‘This Is What I Want’, released 31st July 2026 via INH Records.
A bold, no-nonsense anthem about refusing outdated expectations of women, the track takes aim at the pressure to be the “perfect woman” while demanding respect, independence and the freedom to live by your own rules.
Vocalist Angela Martin says the song was written in response to the rise of the trad wife movement and the toxic manosphere, adding: “We’re not dolls. We’re not trophies. We’re not here to make ourselves smaller so someone else can feel bigger.”
Produced by Martin and mixed by Dan Lucas (The Subways, Bob Vylan), the single was mastered by Katie Tavini (Rudimental, Arlo Parks, Los Bitchos).
‘This Is What I Want’ is the latest track from Bugeye’s second album The Shape of Things, out now via INH Records. Following recent support from Louder Than War, LOUD WOMEN, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and BBC Introducing, the band are continuing to build serious momentum.
